Where does the music come from?
The music I weave into The Miracle in July can be found online in such places as hypem.com, thesixyone.com, bandbase.com, last.fm, soundcloud.com.
I also discover artists by subscribing to several music blogs and podcasts who, like me, are dedicated to promoting less-well-known artists. The Colophon page has a comprehensive list of sources I use.
The Miracle in July is not giving away free music; my goal is to help the artists by bringing them to the attention of new listeners. Many of the bands featured in this experiment are unsigned and don't have their music up for sale yet. When it is I will link to it in the MIJ Amazon music store.
If you like what you hear, please support the artist and label by actually purchasing their music and/or merchandise and supporting them on tour. If you are the copyright holder of a particular track and would like to see it removed, please let me know by sending me a message using the form on my contact page.
Want your music heard?
I'm always looking for new bands, songs and voices. I encourage any bands interested in having their music featured on The Miracle in July to listen to the current playlist and see if their music might fit with the theme and then send me a message using the form on my contact page.
